DEWA sustainable development & environmental projects add to Hatta Development Plan

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has approved a number of leading projects to be implemented in Hatta to achieve Dubai’s development plans, and the Comprehensive Development Plan for Hatta. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the plan to boost the area’s social and economic capabilities and enhance its attractiveness as a world-class tourist destination.

Bassma Association Collaborates with Burger King S.A.L to Promote Education

Bassma Association collaborates with Burger King S.A.L in order to promote education during the month of November in the "Burger for a Cause" campaign to do a fundraising activity at the universities where Burger King will sell its meals, offering the profit to Bassma’s deprived families. The funds will be invested in the "Night School" program of Bassma, thus focusing on education with the slogan "Get your Burger & Help Educate a Child in Need".

DEWA begins construction of 2,400MW Hassyan clean coal power station

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has confirmed that the ACWA Power and Harbin Electric consortium has begun construction of the 2,400 megawatt (MW) Hassyan clean coal power station, based on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) procurement model. The plant will be the first-of-its-kind in the region and is fully-compliant with set international standards, adopting the use of ultra-supercritical technology.
