DEWA organises Creativity Lab workshop to discuss future of renewable energy, 3D printing, and the Internet of Things

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has today organised a Creativity Lab workshop at Raffles hotel in Dubai. The workshop whose theme is Envisioning the Future, discussed innovative solutions and industry solution in the energy sector, 3D printing, and the Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data. It also highlighted DEWA’s efforts to enhance these matters.

United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) approves DEWA’s solar activities programme for the UAE

The UAE’s solar power programme, the UAE Solar Programme of Activities (PoA), has been approved by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Executive Board. The PoA was initiated by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) in collaboration with Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (Dubai Carbon) to promote the development of solar power in the UAE and make it easier to register projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

DEWA Receives 5 bids for Phase III of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has received 5 bids from international organisations for the third phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, said HE Saeed Mohammed AlTayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. The lowest recorded bid at the opening of the envelopes was US 2.99 cents per kilowatt hour. The next step in the bidding process will review the technical and commercial aspects of the bids to select the best one.

DEWA holds Bidder’s Conference for third phase of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised a conference for qualifying international developers who intend to send their proposals for the third phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park to produce 800MW of electricity. The project will be implemented according to the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. The conference aims to clarify details of the last stage of the bid and answer bidders’ technical, financial and legal questions and enquiries.

UAE Water Aid starts accepting applications for Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award worth $1 million

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), has announced that the Foundation is now accepting applications for the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award.
