Al Ansari Exchange, the UAE-based foreign exchange and worldwide money transfer company, has received the Golden Shield Award from the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility. The company was recognized during the regional forum of the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility held recently at the Roda Al Bustan - Rotana Hotel in Dubai. The awarding ceremony was attended by a number of senior government officials, decision-makers, and representatives of socially responsible businesses across the Arab world.

Rashed Ali Al Ansari, General Manager of Al Ansari Exchange, received the Golden Shield Award from Pierre Moukarzel, President of the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility. He commended the efforts of the Organization in instilling a culture of social responsibility in the public and private sectors and stimulating the society to engage in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in order to achieve sustainable development.

Al Ansari said: “The charitable and humanitarian work culture has always been an integral part of the institutional values of Al Ansari Exchange, which is committed to its social and national responsibilities as part of its endeavor to make the world a better place for current and future generations. Among the most prominent causes, we are proud to support various humanitarian, developmental, social and environmental issues and complement our bid to fight poverty, support needy and underprivileged people, and help children worldwide gain access to education, healthcare, and adequate food.”

“We had the privilege to cooperate with leading organizations from the UAE as well as from the Arab region and around the world throughout our long journey, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Dubai Cares, Al Jalila Foundation and the UAE Red Crescent, to implement leading humanitarian initiatives. This has contributed to national efforts inspired by H.H. the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s philanthropic approach and reinforced by the current wise leadership, to make this country a leading model in upholding the values of giving, goodness, solidarity and coexistence among people,” added Al Ansari.

He continued: “In culmination of our successive achievements in social responsibility, we recently allocated AED 25 million in line with the declaration of ‘2017 as the Year of Giving’ to embody the directives of our leadership in making the concept of philanthropy a social trend. We aim to make a positive impact through enhancing our contribution in serving the nation and promoting the UAE as a development and humanitarian model regionally and globally in line with UAE Vision 2021.

“We strongly believe in the importance of activating the true partnership between the public and private sectors in order to pave the way for individuals and communities to build a better future. Al Ansari Exchange remains committed to continue its efforts in the field of philanthropy, driven by ambitious CSR programs which will be a mainstay for driving comprehensive and sustainable development,” concluded Al Ansari.
