GETEX Spring 2017 to offer Middle East students diverse options in higher education

Show to focus on residential schools, occupational and industry courses, professional development & tertiary education

In line with UAE Vision 2021’s objective of building a sustainable, diversified and knowledge-based economy, the country is gearing up for a renewed and strengthened education sector that will enable its people to acquire world-class skills and become lifelong learners. Complementing the UAE’s dynamic educational strategies, the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX), the leading student recruitment platform in the Middle East and Asia, is set to host its spring edition from April 13 to 15, 2017 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

To be held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Education and organised by International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), GETEX Spring 2017 will be an influential platform for international education providers, enabling them to achieve their student enrolment targets. The three-day show will facilitate meetups between aspiring students and professional recruitment advisors and counsellors from leading local and international universities who will provide expert advice on academic and occupational courses. Aside from being an information resource, exhibitors at GETEX also offer attractive scholarships for prospective students to encourage and advance their higher education aspirations.

Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, IC&E, said: “GETEX has been focussing on bringing the best of Education and Training to learners in the UAE. The region’s most successful event of its kind has served students from both the local and expatriate communities for close to 30 years.  Alongside the continuing and tertiary level of education normally on offer at GETEX, this year’s edition will also focus on residential and international schools. With learning programs being offered by over 350 education providers, we are confident of attracting more than 30,000 students in this year’s Spring edition.”

GETEX Spring 2017 will include a seminar schedule, a Career Advisory section, a Counsellors Forum, and an activity zone. The open forum seminars will be a direct interface for students, covering numerus topics on key study destinations, education financing, and scholarships. The Career Advisory section will provide visitors with insights on the region’s evolving employment landscape, while the Student Counsellor Forum is a professional development opportunity for Career Guidance Counsellors to acquire information and knowledge for successfully counselling students.  A new addition to GETEX, the Student Activity Floor, will demonstrate ‘learning beyond the classroom’ through the integration of sports, hobbies and skills in a teambuilding environment.
