Boecker® awarded for implementing Carbon Management Strategy
Beirut, December 26, 2014: Under the patronage and in presence of the Minister of Environment, H.E Mohammad Machnouk, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) represented by Mr. Luca Renda, the Ministry of Environment honored Boecker®, the leading provider of a holistic range of Public Health services covering Pest Management, Food Safety and Biosecurity in the region, with an award for its efforts in reporting greenhouse gas emissions and for pioneering the latest initiatives in implementing a Carbon Management Strategy and reporting their Greenhouse Gas Emissions. IMG_1537-300x200.jpg The ceremony, attended by high-profile executives and officials from various Lebanese institutions, along with UNDP representatives and environment experts, was held at the Mövenpick Hotel Beirut on December 19, 2014. Boecker®renewed its contract with V4 advisors to conduct the Greenhouse Gas Auditing Project, an internationally certified tool which involves the utilization of the consultancy’s Corporate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) calculator. With this being a first of its kind drive in the regional public health sector, Boecker® insures the offset of the GHG emissions produced by its daily business activities. As part of the Ministry of Environment’s approach to partner with the private sector in the global fight against climate change, the ceremony awarded several Lebanese institutions for their efforts in reporting Greenhouse Gas Emissions. Representing Boecker® was the Country manager, Bana Kalash Kobrosly, who thanked the Ministry of Environment and the UNDP for their recognition of Boecker’s green efforts, commenting, “Boecker’s solid commitment to the environment through its adoption of international tools and protocols sets a prime example in the public health sector. We look forward to the endorsement of competent ministries and bodies in encouraging companies to follow greener policies, hence fostering an efficient cooperative Public Private Partnership (PPP) to create a greener economy.”
