Beirut Municipality expands green spaces in the capital

Plans to plant 7000 trees in Beirut city

In the framework of its policy aiming at improving, developing, and embellishing the capital, the Municipal Council of Beirut City approved in his ordinary session, held on 24/08/2017, to contract entities to rehabilitate plant pots and install new ones in the city and plant about 7000 trees, within a year from this date.

The types of trees that are expected to be planted are Barakititium, Jacaranda, Olive, Albizia, Magnolia, pine, Ficus, and Chorisia.

The selection of trees was made based on a study that showed their aesthetic value and diversity of colours. Their capacity to adapt with the Lebanese coastal climate was proven. In a way that they harmonize with the exceptional aspect of the city of Beirut.
