This festive season, four families felt the true spirit of Christmas in thanks to GS and Timberland. Teaming up with Bassma, an NGO that helps underprivileged families reach self-sufficiency, GS and Timberland brought smiles to the faces of those that need it the most by spreading holiday cheer.
Completely uplifting their living circumstances by offering a house renovation as well as continued monthly support and follow-up.
For the third consecutive year, and on the occasion of the UN’s International day of Families, BASSMA launched “World Family Month 2017: Empowering destitute families to build a stronger society”, under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Social Affairs Pierre Bou Assi, in collaboration with the UN Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC Beirut) and in partnership with City Centre Beirut. A press conference was held at VOX cinemas to launch this year’s activations during the month of May.
During this time of year, Lebanese deprived families face the big challenge of paying school tuition and getting the required supplies for their children. In this regard, Bassma that believes in education as the most powerful weapon, has organized a Back to School distribution day in which school supplies, food packs, clothes, shoes, and toys were distributed on Wednesday, September 28 at Bassma Center, in Badaro.
