48MP Triple AI Camera system with all new design ID: Meet the new HUAWEI Y9s

Huawei recently announced the latest iteration to its successful Y series, the HUAWEI Y9s. Following the trend of delivering feature packed devices with stylish designs, the HUAWEI Y9s joins the series as yet another smartphone in the entry level segment that promises powerful performance. Housing one of the best camera setups in its class along with one of the most immersive displays, the HUAWEI Y9s gives users a smartphone experience like no other.

Opening the doors for all kinds of users to get the most out of their smartphone cameras, the HUAWEI Y9s’ intricate triple camera system consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP 120 degree Ultra-Wide Angle camera and a 2MP Depth sensor. As mentioned in the name, on-board AI systems lend a hand during photography, making it easier to take professional level photos and videos. Capable of recognizing up to 22 different scenarios and more than 500 types of scenes, the HUAWEI Y9s’ camera system promises stunning results at the click of button. All users have to do is simply point the camera and the AI will recognize the exact scene, adjusting the required settings to optimize the shot. In addition to this, the AI also assists in low-light photography, with the AIS Night Mode, which ensures well-lit shots even conditions with minimal light.

The camera features extend to video recording as well. Along with taking advantage of a powerful camera setup, the video recording experience is enhanced with the help of additional features and smart AI. Users can use the EIS Anti-Shake video recording to remove blurs or shakes from the video, while the Super Slow-Motion feature shoots at 480fps, slowing down the video by 16 times.

Aiming to provide users with more screen space by removing bezels and notches, Huawei has skillfully hidden the front facing camera in the top edge of the screen. Popping up when you activate the front camera, the Auto Pop-up 16MP AI Selfie Camera can take well-lit selfies thanks to powerful camera hardware and smart AI features like AI Backlit Imaging. Users can also make stunning portraits out of their selfies with the help of 3D Portrait Lighting that allows them to add rich studio effects to their favorite selfies.

Moving the front camera to the top edge paved the way for Huawei to create a more immersive, bezel free and notch-less front display. Called the Huawei Ultra FullView Display, users can enjoy 6.59 inches of uninterrupted screen estate. With a FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 and a 91% screen to body ratio, the HUAWEI Y9s enjoys maximized viewing area complete with rich color reproduction for an amazing viewing experience. To top it off, the screen also boasts a TUV Rheinland certified Eye Comfort Mode, making it comfortable for long term use as well.

This display design is complemented by the premium finish of the HUAWEI Y9s’ glass body, available in the popular Breathing Crystal or Midnight Black variants. The 3D Arc design also creates a natural and seamless transition from the back to the front, making the phone not only stunning to look at, but also comfortable to hold. To ensure that users can enjoy the glass finish on the back, the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the side, where it doubles as a power button as well.

Keeping user experience in mind, the HUAWEI Y9s is built with powerful components at its heart. Users can enjoy ample amount of storage with 128GB of storage (extendable to 512GB via SDcard) with 6GB of RAM. Under the hood lies the Kirin 710F running on EMUI 9.1, which is supported by GPU Turbo 3.0 and Full Screen Acceleration for a smoother and more enhanced user experience. Battery life is not a challenge either thanks to the 4000mAh battery supported by AI Power Saving 7.0.

The HUAWEI Y9s is a lot more than just a powerful camera and a stunning display. It also delivers in terms of design, performance and battery life, making it easily one of the most exciting smartphone launches this season.
