Expo 2020, English Premier League champions Manchester City and Indian Super League winners Mumbai City FC kick off global partnership.
Expo 2020 Dubai and City Football Group have announced a global partnership that will see the next World Expo become Manchester City’s Official Exhibition Partner, and the Official Partner of Mumbai City FC when the 2021-22 Indian Super League season begins later this year.
The collaboration creates a powerful strike force that will build on football’s universal appeal to bring the largest event ever held in the Arab world to audiences around the globe.
Away from the pitch, City Football Group is renowned for its commitment to youth empowerment, sustainability, innovation and gender equality – global issues also at the heart of Expo 2020’s mission to build a cleaner, safer, healthier future for everyone.
Reflecting the global nature of Expo 2020 and its participants, as well as the diverse, multicultural population of the UAE, the partnership will also be amplified around the world through the City Football Group network, with exciting local activations planned at a number of Manchester City’s sister clubs, including New York City FC, Melbourne City FC and Yokohama F Marinos.
Manchester City will have a physical presence during the six-month event, offering a range of fun, inspiring and unexpected opportunities for visitors of all ages to engage with one of the world’s leading football clubs and discover how it is using the sport of football to drive meaningful social change.
From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 Dubai will present an unmissable global experience, welcoming more than 190 countries and inviting millions of visitors to join the making of a new world at one of the first mega-events to be held since the start of the pandemic.
