September 23, 2014 - The Big 5 Kuwait 2014, the country’s largest international construction exhibition, was officially inaugurated on Monday, September 22, 2014 by H.E. Mrs. Hind Al Subaih, Minister of Social Affairs and Labour and Minister of State of Planning and Development Affairs, Kuwait.

The special features of the event’s opening day provided Kuwait’s construction professionals with an opportunity to improve  their knowledge about the sector and further progress their career. Some of the most popular workshops that took place covered Project Management, Managing Facility Management Contracts & Service Level Agreements and an Introduction to LEED Version 4.

The Round Tables were the right place to discuss views and ideas with leading industry experts and were well received by visitors. Tomorrow’s Round Table Zone will feature a discussion the main technologies, materials and designs that can be updated to maximise ROI and save energy with a presentation by Eng. A.B.M. Mizanur Rahman, Specialist Engineer (Mechanical), Ministry of Justice.

On the final day (Wednesday, September 24) the  free certified workshops will continue with ‘Technologies in Construction/FM’ led by Paul Zalloua,‘BIM and the Design Process’presented by Waleed Elewa, BIM Consultant/Revit Instructor, and ‘New Innovations in Concrete Repair’ conducted by Gaby Philippe Kalaf, Speciality Projects Department Manager, KCPC.

Among the product launches are the doors and kitchens by the Economic Corner, part of Hassan Abul Company. The innovative doors are made in Kuwait using high-quality German material and organic glue. Kitchen parts are produced on fully-atomized German machinery boasting of a high-quality melamine face, a variety of units, European fitting, and aluminium plinth. Abdul Baset Kahwaji, Wholesale Department Manager said: “We have been receiving non-stop enquiries since the opening of the exhibition’.
