Nissan teaches robots to make replacement parts for cars

Nissan has developed a new way to use robots to make car parts out of sheet steel, a breakthrough that could make replacement parts for discontinued models more widely available for customers.

Nissan hopes to commercialize the proprietary technique, known as dual-sided dieless forming. The technique involves two synchronized robots working from opposite sides of a steel sheet, using diamond-coated tools to gradually shape the steel.

Buemi earns Nissan e.dams’ first Formula E victory

Nissan has scored its first Formula E electric street racing championship victory with Sebastien Buemi taking a "lights-to-flag" win in the New York E-Prix today.

 The victory was another key milestone for Nissan e.dams which earlier today broke the record for the most pole positions by a single team in a Formula E season (six) and extended its record for the number of Super Pole appearances by a single team in a season to 15.

Nissan e.dams’ Buemi takes podium at home race

Nissan e.dams Swiss racer Sebastien Buemi scored a podium on home soil in the ABB FIA Formula E championship by finishing third on the streets of Bern.

Fresh from scoring his initial season five podium at the last race in Berlin, Buemi qualified third fastest and held that position to the checkered flag despite intense pressure and a dramatic late-race rain shower which threatened to jumble the results.
