WGS 2019: Jungle schools with no teachers: the future of education?

In Bali, a school built entirely from bamboo in a cleared patch of jungle is creating a generation of young people who attend UN climate conferences, start fashion companies to help Indian children buy school uniforms, and lobby the Balinese government to reduce the usage of plastic bags on the island. 

Halfway across the world, in Paris, a non-profit school without a single teacher, a curriculum or formal qualification is cultivating students who establish their own startups or find well-paying jobs.

Working ahead towards its ultimate goal “Teach A Child” holds its annual fundraising event in Beirut

Driven by its mission to provide a brighter future to children in Lebanon, Teach A Child held its annual fundraising dinner on Friday May 29, 2015. All proceeds of this event went to funding the organization’s activities: support the education of underprivileged Lebanese children. The outdoor, disco-themed “Party under the Stars” was held at the Saint Georges Yacht Club and gathered prominent figures of the Lebanese society.
