WeWalk by TECOM Group to Support Dubai’s Autism Community

WeWalk by TECOM Group, an annual charitable walkathon representing people from all walks of life, will support the autism community in Dubai this year. The two-kilometre walkathon will be held in collaboration with Dubai Autism Center, the non-profit organisation that serves children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in the UAE.

Ministry of Climate Change and Environment Seizes 1.7 Tons of Fish Following Surprise Inspection at Waterfront Market in Dubai

The Environmental Compliance Department at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) carried out a surprise inspection at the Waterfront Market in Dubai. Inspectors seized 1,730 kilograms of fish, issued violation tickets to shop owners, fishermen and fish transporters who contravened the nation’s fisheries regulations, and donated the haul to charities to benefit families in need.

Gheras Microsite Goes Live to Support Local Plant Cultivation

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has launched a microsite titled ‘Gheras’ (Saplings) to enhance public awareness and understanding of local plants.

Accessible via the MOCCAE portal, the bilingual site aims to support the implementation of the Cabinet Resolution No. 18 of 2018 on local plant farming and nature conservation through offering ample information on the species listed in the resolution that have adapted to the UAE’s arid environment.

The national laboratories of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) have become the first in the Middle East and North Africa region to be accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the UK’s national accreditation body for organizations that provide certification, testing, inspection, and calibration services.

Ministry of Climate Change and Environment Completes Pilot Phase of Aerial Mapping of Agricultural Areas Using Drones

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has completed the pilot phase of a research project to map agricultural areas across the UAE using drones.

Aimed at facilitating the planning of future agricultural support services, the scheme will provide a wealth of raw data for analysis, such as the number and size of crop, livestock, and mixed farms as well as cooled and regular greenhouses, soil type and condition, crop diseases, and irrigation methods.

A delegation of Rotarians from 7 countries visited Lebanon after being invited by the local Rotary clubs to the 3rd edition of the gathering "Together in Lebanon". The visitors are spending a week touring the country, discovering its culture, heritage and traditions and studying Rotarian humanitarian projects that need funding.
