2’144 participants contributed in turning this event into the sporty, bucolic and relaxed reunion it has become, where runners, walkers and families converge into an exceptional setting to support Myschoolpulse's action.

Myschoolpulse was founded by Mireille Nassif and Danièle Diab, respectively mother and cousin of Paul Yared who passed away from cancer nice years ago. Myschoolpulse brings school to hospital to sick children stricken by cancer or other serious illnesses.

During the medal ceremony, Mireille explained that her son’s main concern during his long chemotherapy treatment in hospital, was to continue his studies and go back to school with his friends, in the upper class.

Two noteworthy events took place during the Pulse 5K:  The 1st one was the presence of Hadrien, Paul’s best school friend, who came a long way to speak about his visits to Paul in hospital in London and how Paul’s morale and drive improved as he started school in hospital. The second important event was the five visually impaired runners who won medals and were greeted by the cheering crowd when they were called on the podium.

Medals and gifts were then awarded to 5K winners in nine age categories and to 1K winners in two age categories. Congratulations to our overall 5K winners Imad Jizzini 16'56 "and Léa Iskandar 19'35"!

Myschoolpulse extends special thanks to those without whom the high standards of the event would not have been possible: Faqra Club, the Beirut Marathon Association and many generous sponsors.

This event took place in the presence of his Excellency Mr. Raymond Audi, along with other business leaders and civil society representatives.

See you next year on Sunday 4 August 2019!

535 CHILDREN SCHOOLED IN SIX HOSPITALS

Myschoolpulse is present in six hospitals in Lebanon. To date, Myschoolpulse offered twenty five thousand hours of lessons for 535 sick children. Classes are taught by experienced teachers and typically take place at the children's bedside in hospital.

Schooling is provided at the bedside of the child in his or her hospital room, during the long medical treatment that prevents him or her from going to school.

Myschoolpulse’s action has had a significant impact on the academic development of sick children as 93% of them passed to the upper level in June 2017, some of whom with honors!

The children’s schooling reconnects them to normality and detaches them a little from their battle against illness, thus keeping alive their hope of regained perspectives.
