McMondial just in time for World Cup fever

McDonald’s Lebanon kicked off their annual “McMondial football tournament that runs among the teams of the companies 24 restaurants as well as the Restaurant Support Centre and McDelivery Call Center last month.“With the entire world’s attention turned to football this year we felt it was the perfect time to reignite this event, explained Daliah Fadlallah, HR Manager for the group.  McDonald’s Lebanon Managing Director Karim Miknas added that,“In the shadow of such a great event as the FIFA World Cup 2014, of which McDonalds is the official restaurant sponsor, we did something on a much smaller ”.scale, at our level and saw a truly spirited fight for the coveted title

“It is a great time to launch this activity.  We are all about and active lifestyle and intelligent nutritional choices.  We also strongly believe in a healthy work / life balance, continued Ms. Fadlallah.  She added that,“The teams were so motivated and so tight; it was a truly incredible experience both for those who participated and those who cheered.  The incredible talent we witnessed really excited the idea that we could form a team to compete with other companies and organizations.”

After weeks of football battles Sami el Solh and Chtoura made it to a gripping final loaded with drama.  At last Sami el Solh scored the final blow to take the 2014 McMondial Championship Winners prize of 750 USD, with second place (Chtoura) receiving 550 USD and third place (Hazmieh) receiving 350 USD.

McDonalds MD Karim Miknas continued that, “Team building through the spirit of sportsmanship as well as building on the competitive nature of our business, it in our DNA.  Teamwork and togetherness is our hallmark, we execute our work much like a football team and no one individual is more important than the other.  This was a great way to emphasize it through the line.”
