Velaa Private Island’s Residences are offering GCC Travellers a New Level of Privacy and Exclusivity

Designed and curated with privacy and comfort as the guiding principles, Velaa Private Island is a luxurious boutique hideaway, offering 4 four-bedroom residences, 25 beach villas and houses, and 18 overwater villas - including the exclusive Romantic Pool Residence.

With just 47 keys, this is one of the most exceptional private island resorts in the Maldives. For ultra-romantic couples, this exclusive getaway offers the Romantic Pool Residence which can only be reached by boat, while GCC travellers who prefer to travel with their families or group of friends will be impressed by the Velaa Private Residences which are set on their own strip of beach and can sleep up to ten.

NIKA, one of the residences,  has recently been redesigned by Patricia Urquiola – the first in a series of interior redecorations on Velaa Private Island by renowned international designers. Urquiola, a multi-award-winning Spanish designer based in Milan, instilled the exceptionally private two-storey NIKA Private residence with a sophisticated look where the emphasis is on laid-back luxury. With a natural colour palette to reflect the abundance of nature which surround it, the light and bright interiors reflect an intimate ambience that encourage guests to fully relax and rejuvenate.

The other three Private Residences have been designed by multi award-winning Czech interior designer, Petr Kolar; Raffia, natural wood and earthy textiles creating a warm, welcoming habitat. Conceived with privacy in mind, the two-storey detached residences feature ocean-facing bedrooms with sprawling balconies, bathrooms connected by a garden atrium, and two outdoor gazebos for dining and reclining. With 1,350 square metres of private interior and exterior space inclusive of two terraces, an outdoor Jacuzzi, a pool and own private beach, the emphasis is on space, style and privacy.

Guests at Velaa Private Island can pamper themselves with a world-class cuisine at three different restaurants – or in the comfort of their own villas and residences – which are under the consultancy of Michelin-star trained Executive Chef Gaushan de Silva. Alternatives offer a refined degustation celebrating Teppanyaki grill cuisine at Tavaru (the highest built restaurant in a Maldivian resort), or dine with their feet in the sand at Athiri restaurant, which dishes up fine dining international cuisine. For a distinguished gastronomic experience, guests should dine at Aragu restaurant – where a bespoke three to five-course tasting menu is created based on their personal preferences. Select from a simple list of prized ingredients (Maldivian lobster, Japanese Bluefin tuna, Anjou pigeon and more) and wait for the magic to begin.

Guest also get to experience a host of personalised experiences at the Island’s luxurious My Blend by Clarins Spa, as well as partake in an extensive selection of land and water sports from golf to kite and windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, jet skiing to more mindful pursuits like yoga and meditation.
