American Hospital Dubai to showcase innovative services & latest facilities at Kuwait Medical Tourism 2016

Healthcare facility to throw spotlight on Palliative Care & new Advanced Rehabilitation Centre

The American Hospital Dubai has announced its participation at the 7th edition of Kuwait Medical Tourism, the country’s biggest healthcare expo, which will take place from March 20 to 22, 2016 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Kuwait City. During its presence at the high-profile healthcare exhibition, the leading hospital will highlight its Palliative Care and new Advanced Rehabilitation Centre along with the latest innovations in Interventional Cardiology, Orthopaedics, and Neurosurgery.

As a dedicated platform for global healthcare services providers, Kuwait Medical Tourism will be a perfect opportunity for the American Hospital Dubai to present its state-of-the-art Palliative Care. The service concentrates on improving the quality of life of terminally ill patients by focusing on the prevention of suffering and relief of symptoms from the very onset of the treatment through pain management. Palliative Care is integrated with the hospital’s Oncology Department so that care can be provided alongside active treatment as it helps in symptom management.

Aside from its Palliative Care, the focus will also be on the American Hospital Dubai’s newly opened Advanced Rehabilitation Centre. The facility provides specialty, long-term care to patients with serious conditions such as stroke or spinal cord injuries through a team of multi-disciplinary experts. The Centre combines high-tech and high-touch technology to help patients recover and return to their family, home and work to live a normal life. Located in the hospital’s new Bed Tower, the new dedicated facility features 22 private rooms and a staff of 22 people, including physician specialists in neurological and spinal cord injuries, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and full-time specialty nurses.

Peter Makawoski, CEO, American Hospital Dubai, said: “As a pioneer in providing US-standard private healthcare in the Middle East, the American Hospital Dubai continues to receive a lot of patients from Kuwait. Kuwait Medical is a vital platform which will enlighten visitors about the complete range of our services as well as help us identify the healthcare needs of Kuwaitis and introduce new offerings.
