DWHC 2014 to display the world’s highest advertising from Burj Khalifa

UAE, October 30, 2014 – Dubai World Hospitality Championship (DWHC) announced that it has achieved a new Guinness World Record title with the display of the world’s highest advertising from the top of Burj Khalifa with a height of 452 meters.. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Rashid Al Maktoum, received the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Record Holder certificate on the sidelines of the second edition of DWHC which is taking part under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, from October 30 to November 1, 2014 at Sheikh Saeed Halls 1, 2, 3 and Arina Hall in Dubai World Trade Centre. This step is poised to promote Emirati hospitality and reinforce Dubai’s position as a leading international destination for hospitality industries.

Omar Amin, member of DWHC Organizing Committee, said: “This unique and first-of-its-kind advertising is part of our promotional plan to promote for DWHC from the top of Burj Khalifa for the entire world to see; especially that Burj Khalifa receives around 150,000 visitors from all over the world per month.”

“Since Dubai attracts tourists from all over the world, DWHC is designed to offer an ideal platform to introduce the world to Emirati cooking and hospitality, with focus on the traditional popular dishes that the UAE has been long known for”, Amin added. “Accordingly, we managed to attract over 25,000 visitors to attend the second edition of DWHC”.

Image-300x200.jpg Amin further pointed out that the DWHC has achieved three Guinness World Records in the 2013 edition, making the world’s largest serving of Aseeda at a weight of 2.8 tonnes; and the largest serving of pickled vegetables (known as ‘Achar’ in the UAE) which weighed 1.5 tonnes and took 19 men to make it in 166 hours using 1,520 litres of vinegar blended with herbs, spices and salt and 1579 kgs of vegetables. The third Guinness entry was the creation of the world’s largest chocolate truffle mosaic that displayed Dubai’s logo for Expo 2020, using 4,000 pieces of chocolate over a 400 sqm area.

DWHC 2014 is featuring a variety of cooking and hospitality-related activities and competitions, highlighting the genuine Gulf and Emirati heritage and culture. The event aims to shed light on the Emirati cooking traditions and Gulf hospitality to preserve it for the coming generations. DWHC offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy watching best-in-class cooking shows and competitions amongst talented chefs in preparing the finest Emirati and international dishes, in addition to showcasing food creations, Gulf products and the famous Hospitality Sector Competition.

The previous Guinness World Record of the highest advertising in the world was recorded in the US with a height of 310 meters.
