DMCA hosts special celebration to mark UAE’s National Day

In a bid to inspire national identity and patriotism among its employees, the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) organized a special celebration on Monday, December 1, 2014 at its headquarters to commemorate the UAE’s 43rd National Day. DMCA’s senior officials and employees were among the event’s participants.

On this occasion, Amer Ali, Executive Director of DMCA, extended his congratulations to H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members, the Rulers of the Emirates, and its citizens.

Ali said: “National Day is a special occasion to recall our rich history and ancient heritage – both of which are the wealth of our nation founded by our fathers led by the late President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. At DMCA, we take pride in our contributions to the country’s maritime sector. Through our celebration of National Day, we are expressing our unwavering pursuit to actively contribute to the local economy’s growth and reinforce Dubai’s position as a global maritime trade, business and investment center. We will continue to hold the UAE flag high as it represents our country’s grand ambitions and firm principles, making us feel the true Emirati spirit and sense of belongingness and loyalty to our nation and to our wise leadership.”

DMCA staged a wide range of educational and recreational activities including a photo exhibition showing the country’s rich history. In addition, it set up a dedicated face-painting area for children and an open buffet with a variety of popular Emirati dishes. Visitors also enjoyed the musical performances of a military band which played national and folk songs as well as other fun and entertaining activities.
