BROTHER INTERNATIONAL (GULF) FZE supports local arts and crafts scene with sponsorship of Craft Land’s ‘Quilt and Stitch Art 2014’ competition

Annual event aimed at celebrating the creative skills and patience required to create a work of art by hand or by using a sewing machine

May 14, 2014 - BROTHER INTERNATIONAL (GULF) FZE, the leading global manufacturer of home sewing machines, is once again showing their support for the local arts and crafts scene with its sponsorship of this year’s edition of Craft Land’s ‘Quilt and Stitch Art’ competition, an annual competition hosted by Craft Land, a needle and fibre crafting store in Dubai. The event is aimed at celebrating the creative skills and patience required to create a work of art by hand or by using a sewing machine. 'Quilt and Stitch Art 2014' will feature a diverse range of the country's locally crafted, quilted, knitted, stitched, crocheted and embroidered items. All entries for this year’s competition will be showcased in an exhibition at the Town Centre Jumeirah from May 16 to May 24, 2014.

The competition is open to all, from hobbyists to professionals--as long as they currently live in the GCC region. Entries for this year's competition will be voted upon by visitors at the exhibition. Winners will be announced at a special awarding ceremony to be held on the last day of the exhibition. In addition, voters casting their choice entries will be entered into a special raffle contest with prizes coming from BROTHER INTERNATIONAL GULF) FZE.

This year’s competition will be offering prizes totalling over AED 50, 000 and includes an all-expense paid trip to Japan to attend the Tokyo Quilt Show 2015; A Brother NV55P sewing machine; a Brother NV95E sewing machine; a Brother ScanNCut machine and many more exciting prizes. Other sponsors for ‘Quilt and Stitch Art 2014’ include Madeira, Addi Clicks, Thomas Ramsden, Lanas Stop, Lang, Leicen, Di Van Niekerk, Prym, TKD and Town Centre Jumeirah Mall.
