The event highlighted BASSMA’s initiatives during the month of May, and which include the month-long “Meal-For-Meal” initiative, “A simple click can help a family in need” with City Centre Beirut, “Family-Sized Love” at Carrefour, the “Live, Love, Laugh for a Cause” collection with exclusive items launched with the campaign, and a generous participation by Retail Group.

The Meal-For-Meal initiative is held for the second time, after a successful run last year. The initiative involves the donation of a meal for every meal ordered by a customer at the partner restaurants all throughout the month of May. That in mind, last year’s campaign managed to provide 2,000 hot meals to 500 families. This year’s partnering restaurants are: Casper & Gambini’s, Beirut Cellar, Olio, Diwan Beirut, L’Os, and McDonalds.

The press conference also marked the launch of the City Centre Beirut initiative, which includes a customized vending machine set at City Centre’s galleria area. That said, City Centre Beirut has generously joined BASSMA in maintaining this activity until the end of Ramadan. The activity allows donors to choose which of BASSMA’s programs they’d like to donate to. With a simple click, the donation would go to any of BASSMA’s distinct programs including medical aid, education, house renovation, employment, and food aid. Also at City Centre Beirut, Carrefour joins the World Family Month campaign and BASSMA’s cause with its “Family-Sized Love” initiative, where the proceeds of items marked with a special sticker will go to helping BASSMA’s families.

In addition, Live Love Laugh For A Cause also launched their initiative that will be active over the months of May, June and July, where 25% of the proceeds of purchased items will be going to BASSMA. The initiative falls in line with Live Love Laugh For A Cause’s culture of continuous giving. Also in light of BASSMA’s World Family Month, Retail Group has offered its customers the opportunity to help families in need by donating with every purchase.
