Following three days of beneficial business networking and matchmaking, Dubai Optical Show Vision-X (DOSV-X) ended on a high note as regional and international optical brands, retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers hailed the only eyewear and eyecare trade event in the MENA region as a success. The organisers of DOSV-X 2018, DV Global Link, a joint venture between Dubai World Trade Centre and Italian Exhibition Group, have been left ecstatic with the encouraging response to this year’s show and its strengthened concept.

DOSV-X’s new concept was designed with the support of strategic partner ANFAO (Italian Association of Optical Goods Manufacturers). Spurred on by the encouraging feedback and reaction to the event, DV Global Link has already started making plans to ensure next year’s edition of DOSV-X, from 12th to 14th November 2019, capitalises on this year’s momentum to make the second edition even bigger and better.

DOSV-X 2018, Show Director, Luca Veronesi stated, “The results from this year’s Dubai Optical Show Vision-X have demonstrated that we are on the right path towards our goals of developing an event that meets the growing and dynamic demands of the MENA region. With the amount of optimism garnered this year, we are even more equipped to plan and provide our stakeholders a show that they truly deserve. Buyers were satisfied with the diversity of the products this year and exhibitors were equally happy to see buyers coming from 71 countries including, besides the Middle East countries, Kenya, India, Nigeria, Russia and Sudan. What has been achieved over the past three days will hopefully boost the local and regional eyewear and eyecare industry, sealing its international reputation, and laying the foundations for the show next year. DOSV-X 2018 also provided a vital platform for the development of local, regional and international strategic partnerships. With exhibitors coming from the UAE and 16 other countries including Italy, Germany, Argentina, Malaysia, Korea and France, participants in the business matchmaking programme were able to reap the rewards of the innovative initiative by developing international business relationship and solidifying existing ties.

In addition to the individual exhibitors, two national pavilions attended DOSV-X, with the Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs & Energy supporting the presence of 11 German exhibitors and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) managing the presence of 20 Italian exhibitors under the banner ‘Made in Italy’. The presence of their fashion frames strongly enhanced the product variety at the show, confirming the international imprinting of the show and exciting the buyers’ interest.
